  • Adam Tyson

    Senior Pastor, Elder

    Pastor Adam is from the great state of Georgia. After attending medical school, he became a physician's assistant and worked in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery in Savannah for four years. While serving in his local church, he felt an overwhelming desire to pursue the glory of God through theological training and the opportunity to serve the Lord in full-time ministry. Adam had the privilege of attending The Master's Seminary for both an M.Div. (2005) and D.Min. (2013). He served as an associate pastor of student ministries and outreach at a church in Texas for seven and a half years. He has a passion for expository preaching, biblical counseling, world-wide missions, and reaching the community of Santa Clarita with the gospel! Adam serves as an adjunct professor in the biblical counseling department at The Master’s University. He and his lovely wife, Lisa, have been blessed with five children: Anna, Nate, Micaiah, Hudson, and Zoe.

  • joshua daugereau

    family & Youth pastor

    Pastor Joshua grew up in a Christian family all over the world as his dad was in the Navy. After graduating from Bryan College with B.A. in Bible, he spent a year as a church-planting intern in Central Italy. Missions has been a central part of his life as he had already been to Ukraine, Brazil, Tanzania, Mexico and twice to Italy on short term teams in his high school and college years. That year as a church-planter turned into 10 more as a full-time church-planter/pastor in Italy. During that time he met and married his wife Carmela and their 3 daughters (Hannah, Benedetta and Ruhamah) were all born and raised in Italy. In 2012, he stepped off the field to attend The Master’s Seminary in order to be better equipped for the ministry working towards an M.Div (2015) and a Th.M (2018) and is currently in the Ph.D program, all the while serving at Grace Community Church. His desire is to serve the Lord wherever He leads which has brought him to PBC in 2021.

  • Patrick Hamblin

    Elder Board Chairman

    Patrick grew up in the San Fernando Valley, graduating from Village Christian HS. He then graduated from The Master's University with a BA in History. After teaching and coaching for five years at Village Christian, he went into law enforcement and currently works as a police helicopter pilot. Patrick and his wife, Christina, have been married for 16 years, and they have three children. They are avid Dodger fans; in fact their first date was a Dodger game! Pat's hobbies include camping, fishing, and following USC football and basketball. Pat serves at PBC as our elder board chairman and as the elder who provides oversight to Foundations (Children's Ministry) and small groups.

  • Bill Barrick

    Lay Elder

    Bill and his wife, Barbara, have been members of PBC since 1997, and he has served as an elder since 1998. Barbara led the Women's Ministry for ten years and also served as church librarian for many years. Bill also teaches equipping classes from time to time. Bill and Barb have been married 55 years and have four married children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Bill retired from full-time teaching at The Master's Seminary five years ago. He leads rafting trips for Canyon Ministries in the Grand Canyon and is chairman for that ministry’s board, teaches overseas at TMAI pastoral training centers and other schools, serves as secretary-treasurer for the newly founded Creation Theology Society, edits an Old Testament commentary series for Logos/Faithlife, and is writing books of his own. Bill and Barb are away half of the time caring for Barb’s 95-year old mother who has end stage kidney disease.

  • Todd Kostjuk

    Lay Elder

    Todd and his wife, Ashley, have been members at PBC since 2005 where they have had the joy and privilege of serving in various ministries throughout the years.  As an elder, Todd oversees the finances, provides oversight for the Welcome Team, and helps lead a small group.  Todd grew up in Southern California and was saved during his junior year of high school by coming under the intense  conviction of his sin before a holy God and realizing his need for Jesus to save him from the wrath of God.  He met his incredible wife, Ashley, his first month at The Master's University and they have been married since 1998.  They are blessed with two older children.  Todd has worked many years in the business world and currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and VP of Administration at The Master's University and Seminary, where he also teaches business classes.  He enjoys all types of sports (especially the Dodgers), the outdoors, spending time with family, and reading God's Word.

  • MARK MADRID

    LAY ELDER

    Mark has attended PBC since 2011.  Prior to that, he attended and served at Grace Community Church.  It was there he met and married his best friend, Terah.  They have been married since 2005 and have three children.  Mark loves investing his time and energy into the church and has a passion to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.  He enjoys his coffee black with no cream or sugar, and has a weakness for cookies and milk.



  • Jim Sojka

    Lay Elder

    Jim has been a member of PBC for over 18 years and an elder for 10 years.  He is a father of three, grandfather of five, and husband to his incredible wife, Pam, since 1986.  Jim loves the church and loves to serve others. He has been privileged to have been saved for over forty years, and he finds it more amazing now than ever before that the God of the universe reached down to change his selfish heart and make him one of His own.


  • Mark Smith

    Biblical Counseling Director

    Mark is originally from Washington, D.C., and moved to Arizona in 1988 where the Lord saved him in his freshman year at Arizona State University. He’s lived in Los Angeles since 1998. He met his wife, Janet after moving west, they were married in 2001, and they’ve been blessed with two children, Joshua and Grace. He spent his early career in operations management and human resources for manufacturing and distribution companies. He transitioned to non-profit management for parachurch ministries in 2008. Prior to joining PBC in 2019, he served with Children’s Hunger Fund, Rescue Mission Alliance, Joni and Friends, and at Grace Community Church in the biblical counseling ministry under Pastor Bill Shannon. Mark has been involved with the Master’s University since 2005 as a student, and since 2015 as Adjunct Faculty teaching biblical counseling. Mark also serves as the Director of Graduate Studies in Biblical Counseling at The Master’s University under Dr. John Street. He received his MABC degree from TMU, ACBC Certification in 2016, and is a student at The Master’s Seminary.
